2500 with 2000xl floppy drive?

Has anybody tried to put the 2000xl floppy drive into the 2500 to load up old beats from floppy disk and save to 2500 hard drive?

To me this would be quicker than loading, saving to cf card then putting cf card in 2500 load againthen save onto 2500 hard drive.

I have over 200 floppies to transfer.

I have tried the floppy in my computer, but it will not read most of the disks... even with programs like chickensys translator and others.

Do you have a SCSI Floppy drive for your XL? You can connect that to you computer along with your 2500 and transfer files that way.....

My Problem is: the only way the floppies will read is on the 2000xl drive. they will not read on any floppy drive attached to the computer.

Not too familiar with the 2000, but if it has usb could you connect it to the computer that way then transfer?

There's no such thing as a 2000xl floppy drive. I'm sure when Akai manufactures the MPCs, they just put regular ass computer floppy drives in their units.

The 2k doesn't have usb.

You are right, no point in even trying that. There is a reason why you have problems with that, it's been discussed before and I don't wann keep repeating it so you'll have to search for it.

Why don't you just go ahead and do it if it needs to get done, stop worrying about quicker (unless it's 2kxl time stretch which is a pain).
