Whats up y'all? Just registered so that i can do searches on this board, wouldn't have thought I'd come to a point where i need help so fast...
I want to transfer my unfinished beats from my good old 2000 to my new 2500 so I can sell the 2000 by the end of the year.
First I tried importing my .pgm and .all files with zip disks and the pc which didnt work at all.
The main problem was that most of my samples have names longer than 8 characters which will just get overwritten on the pc.
And of course the 2500 couldn't read the .all files.
So I put the .pgm's into the mpc editor and exported them with a new name and saved the sequences as single .mid files instead of .all's.
Then I sent those to the 2500 via usb (i also tried putting them on a memory card).
The 2500 does read those files but what comes out is a big mess.
The .pgm's are missing samples (which are always on bank A), the speed is the one I started the 2500 with and everything seems to be in the first sequence with the samples from bank A.
So if i had my drums on bank B they get replayed with the sample which is just noise....
Am I doing something wrong or is this all I can expect?
btw **** all the talk, this is a great machine, they added like every feature I always dreamed about...even if they took one away (LAYERING!
