Re-Chop

Is it possible to edit and trim an already chopped loop? And is there a way to add another slice to a loop that has 4 slices in it?

Yes, it's called RECHOP. It's F5 of the chop shop screen. However if you've already turned it into a program or a patched phrase, I believe you have to set your start/end points again. That's why I usually audition my chops with the pads in the trim screen. It saves me time from having to go back and do it again.

yea just rechop it again.. or just chop it like 60 times..

as of now i have a loop that i chopped into 6 slices that are the way i want them....i want slice 4 to begin just a little sooner and to add one more slice to cut slice 5 in half....are you saying that i would have to re-chop everything from the start just to do minor editing?

if you want slice 4 to begin sooner, adjust the start point of that slice. Then if you want to add a slice and cut slice 5 in half hit edit while in the chop mode. The cursor over til you see divide slice. Just divide it....

how do i adjust for slice 4? when i am in trim mode, all of the separate slices show up, only they are apart so when i try to add more to the start of slice 4, it won't let me cause thats where it was originally cut off....so there is no way to get back to the file that had the 6 slices?

yeah you cant readjust it after you already told it to chop. Youll have to go and re-chop the original sample again. BUt this time make sure all the slices are how you want them before you chop..

damn...i guess it's not a huge deal but it would be nice if you could go back and edit...is that something reasonable to add to the next OS?

not sure but it would be nice. for the zones to be saved even after you chop..

is there a specific place to request new ideas of the next OS? or is it when people create threads about wut should be added, they just write wut they wish would get added and not actually request anything?

Really, you're overthinking it. It's not a hard issue to deal with. Just make your final decision on how many "regions" you want before you, divide them up. Also, just because you have more chops, doesn't mean you have to use them all.
