MPC 2500 REVIEW BY MARTY CUTLER

FEATURES 3
EASE OF USE 3
AUDIO QUALITY 3
VALUE 2

QUOTE BY MR CULTER
"Likewise, the low MIDI-event resolution is puzzling, espcially in light of claim for instrument's classic feel. I hope that Akai will address some of these shortcoming with a future update(currently in the works, according to Akai) or in a next-generation instrument.

FUNNY HOW THINGS ARE STARTING TO LEAK OUT 8)

MR CULTER PRETTY MUCH DIS THE MPC 2500 HIS BIGGEST COMPLAINT WAY OVERPRICE FOR WHAT IT DOES.

I believe EM always dissed the MPC. I think they rated the electribes over the mpcs before. I think Sound on Sound gives better reviews. But the little teaser is nice, and probably true. They can do alot more with this sampler. I just hope they do it. Just look and Ableton's new Sampler.

Who the heck is Mr. Cutler  He has obvisouly never used an MPC before..sorta like the guys that represent Akai at those music conventions  His rating for ease of use makes it clear that he never used an MPC before.

The low-midi event resolution is the same as the older MPCs (thus...classic feel among other things) which is one reason why I like it personally.

As far as prices....aren't all these musical instruments overpriced  The 2500 is about the same price as a maxed out 2000XL, which has less features...Mr. Cutler sounds as broke as.....

Like anyone really cares what Mr **** thinks.

To be honest most of these BS magazine writers are full of it anyway. I never fall for reviews. So subjective.

They never think of the intended / target user. Even if he was comparing a traditional phrase sampler styled MPC (like the 2500) to a full blown sequencer (like cubase or a high end keyboard worksation), that is plain wrong IMO.

The MPC 2500 is great at percussion and basic sampling chops. Its not trying to be a full blown sequencer (apart from the 4k)

BTW those ratings are out of 5
