sampling in the 2500

is it true that you can sample straight from cd's instead of having to sample from records with the mpc 2500?

Yes, if you have the CDM25 installed. If not, you will have to connect an external CD player to the MPCs analog or digital inputs.

There is a CD option where you could put a player/burner in it. It acts as a CD player as well. I assume there is no DA/AD conversion with the CD option, straight digital. Can someone back this assumption up?

u can do that with any MPC jus what jahrome said use analog or digital outputs , but u need the right cables ...

yes dude.. thats mainly what its for.. so you dont have to buy a turn table if you dont or not use to dj'ing.. som eof us still use them though cuz of old records..

lol.. ok i just want 2 no cuz im not to clear on who you steted that on.. but im sure its on the guy who asked the q?.. just want 2 no.. but old records really bring back memorys..lol.. make sure if you using parents or grandpas and grndmas old records to check if there warped..now you dont want that

but if all you got is cd's full of old jams then use them for sampling... or like some producer named nextday with the 4000 , he uses limewire and downloads old songs..then burns them to a cd.. shame shame...

but sample however you can..

lol i used to do that but , i jus bought a turntable and a big crate of records , i find samplin from records is faster and quicker than doin what i did before , downloadin from limewire .....

Sample how ever you possibly can, it doesn't matter as long as the end product is bangin. Some people who sample from CD also add vinyl noise to their tracks, you know, pops, clicks, hiss; just to give it a more authentic vinyl feel. I also remember hearing Kanye mention that he got a few samples off cd, he said jay-z's Encore track was off cd, and another one too.

no doubt.. most likely if you own a 2500 and a cd drive.. most likely uve sample from a cd.. ive done it.. a couple times.. the end resualt was pretty tight... im made a joint called I Love You.. now dont take it as im telling you that i do but thats the name of the beat.. its dope.. ive tryed that limewire shit.. but it takes to long to download a song then burn it to a cd.. ahh.. i doubt ill do it again but its nice to no you have another option.. and mos def i ill sample from cd's as well but not allways if i got the track on a record..

I've taken mp3's and converted them to wav files, transferred them to my compact flash via card reader, then chopped it up in my MP. I don't have a problem doing that.
