noisy 2500k!!!

i knew ithe built in 8 outputs were too good to be true...i plugged my mp into my hd rig for the first time tonight. i noticed that the assignable outs transmit some of the sound from the stereo outs and all of the outs have a good amount of noise coming from them. i realize that no analog output is going to be completely noise free, but has anyone else noticed that this machine is pretty noisy??

nope.. srry bud.. i aint had the prob.. and im hoping this wont happin 2 me.. but srry for what happin to you... you gotta live with it some time.. if not.. take maters into your own hands.... let the lazy akai support help you out to gigure out this.. but for now .. wait for others to reply if they have had the same thing happin.. hope it works out for you in the end

I have not noticed this when using the stereo outs and I have not used the individual outputs at all yet. I would recommend trobleshooting untill a solution is found.

dont find the individual outs that harsh.....

are you positive it's the 8-outs that's a problem; are you sure it's not the cables you are using? perhaps the mixer, if it's hooked up to one? your recording hardware/software?

is your powersource grounded? if not thats most likley the issue, otherwise it might be some other equipment in your setup or even worse a faulty 2500

ok, thanks guys...i realized that the noise only occurs when i have the master level at 0db. Thats the level i use when i'm working thru my headphones, since this is the first time i've plugged the unit into my system (monitors, recorder, etc.) i realize that -18db is a more appropriate level; there is no noise at this level, and the assignables are silent. but just a test....keep all of your sounds playing out of the stereo outs, turn your master level to 0db and plug in some phones to an assignable output, play a sound and see if you hear the sound faintly...i just wanna make sure i dont have a dud.....but thanks anyway guys

The quality of the MPC 2500s outputs are equal to or superior to anything I have. It is virtually silent compared to my other sound modules.

From a quick test, no problems here either from any out.

Sup Maestro I was about to tell you the same thing..but these cats beat me too it.

My Motif ES's main outputs are drivin' me son. I even shipped it back to Yamaha to have them service it. They said they didn't find a problem.."BULLSTUFFF" The indi outs are better.

The 2500 is has more less noise.

whatup nuk! yeah, the motif es out's are horrible!!!! i think those have made me overly paranoid. the assignable L&R's are terrible too. the other joints and the digital outs are the only ones that i would even dare use in a professional situation. Man I really wish the mpc and motif could output at 48k, that would be the bizness!

I agree...I find myself using the digital outs of my sound modules when I can.

According to Akai's documentation, all outputs are balanced? If your "rig" has got balanced inputs, using balanced cables will get rid of unwanted noise. Then you can still use 0db for hotter levels.
