operating system

hey guys, this is my first post so firstly Hi!

Anywho, so i just bought the MPC tutorials, im up to page 44 where he speaks of being able to upgrade my operating system. i checked the version i have on mine and it is v 1.0. apparently at the time of publication, akai had just released V 1.21. So i went to the link www.akaipro.com/supportos.html and there is absolutely no upgrades for the 2500

I am also having difficulties getting the digital out to work also (yes i am using the right cord) so i was thinking that this may solve the problem (upgrading the OS)

any ideas o wise forum?
