KeyMap or Read Multisamples

Can someone tell me if the MPC 2500 reads multisamples? Can it also keymap? I know there is a recent O.S. Thanks.

You can load all samples, as long as they are in WAV format. If you buy multisample CDs, make sure they are in WAV format.

However, you will have to put them in your program and map them to the right MIDI notes on your own basically.

Thanks but Its amazes me that after all this time they make you go through al that as much as they cost that should be a standard feat. it is still a sampler after all. Oh well just my 2 cents.

I guess you really don't know what an MPC actually is. Its a drum/percussion/phrase sampler and sequencer. Nothing more. It wasn't designed to be a full fledge sampler. But you can use it's chromatic assignment of samples which will take a sample, tune/assign it to each pad, so that you can play it on a keyboard. This produces decent results. If you need an MPC that is a full fledge sampler..there is only one and it costs several hundred dollars more. The other alternative is to buy a cheap hardware sampler or software sampler to use with the MPC 2500. Your choice.

Did you actually purchase a 2500? Because it would be silly to complain about what features it doesn't have after you spent your money.

If multisample feature is important get the 4000 instead. The 2500 can only do basic multisamples, its enough for me but i only use multisamples on basses which are not that demanding.

yeah theres an independent company writing an OS out in november that will let you use the 2500 to its full ability instead of having to deal with akais general OS incompetence and silly games.

Chainer+VSTi+Bluebox = unlimited multi sample kits

Since i got the MPC 2500 and now can store 40GB"s of samples i have made 1000000's of multi sample kits with this combo.

You put some much faith into some 3rd Party company that hasn't even finished with the first OS they are working on

If you even own an MPC 2500, try learning how to use it first before talking about the 2500s 'full ability', which I am guessing is that you don't know what that may be. You wouldn't be talking about MPCs if it wasn't for Akai. Where would you be then? Using a Grove Box

Guys Guys thanks for the feed, but the fact is jah there is an akai mpc legacy so there is no what if in this situation. They can still do more these joints aren't cheap. I repeat they are not! You know 3rd party hackers really push companies to do what the really need to be doing most of the time. If you use protools you may remember that episode with digidesign and those hackers which foreced them to give you 32 tracks instead of 24 or 16trks.

Anyways..................

How do I get a hold of the VST,BlueBox etc..........? is it hard to use? It sounds interesting but I don't wanna spend hours and hours of time trying to design something that should already be there so please feed this statement.

I use the MPC editor it works great for putting pgms together saves a lot of time. So I would hope the other prg. are quick and efficient.
