MPC 2500 Ebook

Anyone purchase the Ebook that gets advertised on this site for the MPC 2500? Can any of the owners or people who have read the Ebook offer any reviews on it? Was it helpful? Is it worth the $39.99 the site is asking?

I think someone in here has bought it...........If you do a search you should be able to find his remarks on the E-book.

ive only used / looked at the free demo you can download and it seems very good and comprehensive in a practical way.

My mate got a copy and i read over it, its craps on the manual that comes with the MPC 2500 thats for sure. I like how it comes with working files for you can do things hands on. Also he got his bound for like $3AUS.

I bought it not so long ago but didn't get time to read it much...

There is a lot of n00b stuff in the beginning (like it explains the difference between mono and stereo signal, lolz)

Anywayz, it has like almost 300 pages so there is bound to be some interesting stuff... it looks well designed and comes packed with practical examples.

I'll report when I read more.

It's a pretty extensive manual, that covers far more than just the basic technical features of the unit. It goes into other stuff as well. It should be well worth your cash, especially if you take the time to read the whole thing.

ive bought the mixing and drum layering ebooks.

They are good.

I was also on here way back in the day when mpc tutor had some free tutorials and they were good too.

I think all the ebooks are good because even if you know your shit, it might give you insight that you may not have thought of. overall they are good and worth the money. On the drum layering book, there was alot of stuff I already knew, but never thought of it in the context the book offered, and i could see alot of stuff other people most likely didnt know about. and if you dont learn something new, at least it would be a good refresher and they are not hard reads.

Now I just gotta find a place to print and bind it together so I can carry it around. Staples charges $0.39 a copy which is just ridiculous.

I know its a stoopid question but does anyone know a cheap place that will print and bind the PDF?

do a black and white job, double sided at kinkos... the bind will cost you like $7 and you'll save some change in b&w and using 2 sides of the paper instead of 1...

Any office supply store should be able to help you with the binding.

Staples was ridiculous if I wanted everything printed in color and bound (using both sides of the page) would've come out to about $111.00. I forgot to ask about B&W. Hopefully Kinko's will offer a better price. Or I might just print it out myself. Anyway sorry for the stoopid question. Even little $hit like this is getting way to expensive in Manhattan

Wow.......I think that may be for a professional style binding. They should offer a cheaper version of the binding that uses like plastic ringed spine.It has about 16-20 rings that hold the sheets together, kind of like a notebook.This version should be less than 20 bucks.

The only thing is (and I'd be curious to hear from people who have bought it and read it end-to-end) is from the example chapters, it's obvious that it's just a re-labeling of the MPC2000XL eBook -- in fact, some of the chapters refer to things that the 2500 doesn't even have, and screenshots aren't updated either. Again - this was in the "demo" chapters I downloaded awhile ago, not sure if this is still the case.

You'd think they'd do a better job paying attention to this kind of thing; it's what kept me from buying it.

Yes, I really updated it! I spent a long time converting the tutorials into MPC2500 format, plus creating new ones specifically for the MPC2500. Same goes for the MPC1000 version. They are both based on the XL book as fundamentally all MPCs have the same functionality (to a point), but obviously I had to re-write heavily for the newer machines to take into account the additional software and hardware.

There were a couple of small bugs and spelling mistakes that I remedied as soon as I was told about them but if anyone does find some more, let me know, I'll get them fixed asap. Please PM me or email me with the details.

As for screen shots not being updated from the XL book - I think you may be mistaken. For a start, the screen shots on the XL are pale blue, the ones on the 2500 are lime green, so I'd have noticed something that obvious! Honestly, creating the screen shots was a nightmare first time round (XL), even worse second time round (i.e. having to do it all again), so I can assure you that I defintely did create completely new screen shots the second and third time round, and have the grey hairs to prove it...

The demos up there at the moment are the same ones that have been there since the products first went live, nothing's changed, so if there is a mistake there, please let me know
