what's up everybody?

I will be hosting three MPC clinics at the Guitar Center in Fairfax on the first three Wednesdays of November (the 1st, 8th, and 15th). Even if you are an MPC expert, it will be a good time to come out, network with other like-minded people, and help the community grow and thrive.

The first session is really going to cover the basics, the second more of the actual composition aspects and the third will go over some advanced features of the MPC2500 in particular, though most of the concepts will apply to the entire MPC family.

Admission is free, just come on by! all the sessions will start at 7pm est and will last about 60-90 mins.

My name is Don.

i can talk with my higher ups and see if we can get more wide-range support for the clinics, see what can happen for regional sessions... so I'll be more than happy to do it. just gotta work out all the details. I'll keep you posted tho.

sorry about the long delay in getting back to the boards. the first clinics have been big successes! alot of area mpc users have come thru and we've had fun getting deeper with the unit. the clinic this wednesday is going to be the last "official" clinic till january (with xmas on the horizon, they won't let me do them till afterwards). however, I'm always down to go through the unit unofficially whenever.

so far as coming out of state for clinics, it's reallly mainly dependent upon the turnout for the clinics here, and it's up in the air so far. i'll keep yall posted on the progress.

hopefully these can be a more frequent thing, where producers and beatmakers can all just meet up and throw down. that's my hope, anyway. that, and for a great finish on Wednesday night (I'll actually play more beats this time!)

Any suggestions on making something like this happen at my local GC?

request the hell out of it. the most I can say is just show interest in having an event like that, if even demanding it. there's only so much I can do to show that there's interest. if it's coming from the customer, eventually someone will see that there's an audience and will try to put it together. I'd hope anyway.

if all that don't work, we'll have to figure somethin out...

If one of these would happen at the GC on Sunset in Hollywood, I'd most definitely show up.... and I suspect that Upright might make the drive also ;)
