Post your views and questions about the Akai MPC2500

Hello,

Can some one tell me why its stuck on 128MB when i power the unit on it stays here and will not go anyfuther than here seems stuck.....

PNY Tech. Memory master 256MB PC100.

How do I fix this or do need new memory??

Its the memory. Do a search on this forum.

Get the recommended ram. 128MB.

I'm not sure where you read that,but it's not true. I have the 128MB ram and at boot-up , it says 128MB installed. :)

Thats wrong. Why would Akai sell a 128MB RAM stick that is MADE for their machines that would only read at 64MB? That only happens with non Akai RAM. Do another search. I dont know why people that know nothing about their machines and how to properly install options, would even think about getting something that wasn't Akai apporved...... :roll:

So, just to be clear, is he saying the machine is stalling on a memory check and failing to boot up? I can't tell if he's saying that or if it is booting up and he expects it to go above 128MB. I thought the EXM 128 *was* a 256 module in real life....

Sounds like it's getting stuck a boot-up.

I really don't know much about the 256MB ram or how the Mpc reads it at boot-up.

yea it halts on mem check on opening screen it never "BOOTS" up.
