Using sound modules w/o MIDI?

is this correct?

1. hook up the midi device (sound module) to the inputs on the mpc.
2. goto record mode set threshhold then hit the note on my midi controller.

trim if needed, DONE.

I want all my sounds in the mpc if im thinking correctly.....? and what reads .SND files?

First you need to press record f6 , but yeah that sounds right to me.

Not sure about the .SND files

The mpc2500 can read mpc2000/xl SND files. Also check out the link below. If not u can always get that chicken translator that will turn snd files into .wav files.
