Did Akai Fix the Sync Issue Yet?

Another person that can't get their MPC to sync? I guess you need to read that thread as well.

yea it sucks that it still doesn't work...i'd install the jj os but i heard that direct record does not work...is this true?

not really trying to read an 18 page post about a third party OS that i'm not using. i believe the question was did akai fix the sync problem? did they? there haven't been any os updates since 1.22 as far as i know and midi beat clock wasn't working correctly on that.

The MPC will work as an MTC and Midi Clock Master. It will also work as an Midi Clock Slave. In order to get it to function as an MTC Slave, you will have to press play on the MPC to get it ready for MTC. Once you press play on your Master device which sends MTC, your MPC will sync to it.


Please note that when using MTC, your MPC as well as your software sequencer, should be set to the same tempo for easy editing. If you are using Midi Clock, the Master device will set the tempo. So if your MPC is the slave, it will follow the tempo of your software sequencer.


So, your question is did Akai fix MTC? No. Does MTC work? Yes. Does it work as it should? No.

Does the JJ OS have working MTC? Yes. Does it work as it should? Yes. Is the sync better than Akai? I would say they are about the same. But you will have to give it a try yourself to find out.

thanks Jah... it still bothers me that an established business like akai can release an OS with such an important feature and then take forever just to send out a fix for it... i mean, how difficult is ti for them to send out 1.22b or something... come on akai... $2k drum machine with broken mtc? hmmm

WTF? Another thread you are trying to ruin. Are you going to pop up in every thread that involves MTC? If you spent more time on your MPC (if you even own one) you will be fine.

Akai doesn't normally announce OS updates. They usually just appear on their site as a download.

In another thread, a forum member claimed that Akai and JJ are suppose to partner for future operating systems...who knows if this is true.

But anyway....stop playing. You already stated several times in this forum in several threads that the JJ OS is amazing..and that it works fine for you. With that being said, what is the rush on another OS update? There were 3 or 4 updates this year.

JJ's "iniative" is amazing, but the OS isn't perfect.

I already know that the OS isn't perfect. That's why I don't use it for any real projects.
