no problem in using the mfc 42 with any gear, look here: http://www.akaipro.com/prodMFC42.php it has stereo in and out and more...
the only thing you cannot do is mount it like on the 2000/xl...

i guess id just be aswell just stickin to routin the mpc thru the pc then
