Post your views and questions about the Akai MPC2500

ive made a few beats on my 2500 but i havent gotten into the mastering part of the unit, i was planning to use my other effects and compression units when it was time to mix, am i missing out are the effects and compression on the 2500 worth using?

I would say yes. Just like any drum machine, the internal compresson is usually good enough anyway. In my opinion an external effects processor gives you quicker access. I'm sure a grand compressor will sound "fatter" if that;s your thing. It's a matter of taste. I'm fine with it. I also use my indigo 2 effects.

great for a drum machine, but not great in a pro mixing situation.
so it should'nt put you off buying a 2500...

I personally would never us the effects in my 2500 there ok but there nothing compared to the plugins u can get for ur sequencer i use the ones that come with logic i think there really good but ive used some by universal audio THERE AMAZING and i they all run off dsp chip so not takin to much power off your cpu
