Help on looping drum samples?!?!?!

Hey people i've just had my M.P.C now for around a month but my ram just got deliverd yesterday so i am now entering the world of sampling!

My question is i've recorded some drum samples and ive loaded some up on my mpc but is there any way that i can change the tempo of it or set it to play on a certain number of bars? i was trying to find a way but when i was changing the tempo on the main sequence view the sample would either drag over the certain bars i've selected or finish before, depending on weather i was increasing or decreasing the tempo.

Im going to answer this before someone else tears a hole in your @** for not knowing how to loop after having the machine for a month.

If the sample finishes too soon then you either have to slow the sample down or speed the sequence up. Or you can do a combination of both until its looping properly.

If the sample is running over then you have to speed the sample up or slow the sequence down. Or you can do a combo of both.

It helps if you have a good count on how many bars your sample is before you attempt to loop. Also make sure your loop points are good

but how do you slow the sample down? by using the slider? if so on which setting?

The best thing you can do for yourself is read the manual and do a search on this site. Heres a tip though: Take your drum loop, and play it through. Use the Tap Tempo button to get somewhere near the BPM of the loop. Then, you can adjust it to make it fit. If that doesnt work, try Timestretch in the Trim mode. I can't give you settings, thats somethng you have to figure out with your sample.
