Can I Tranfer files to pro tools without sync?

Wassup everyone, I wanted to know if this was possible...i'm getting my 2500 in a couple of days and i wanted to get some things out the way...is there a way to transfer whatever files i have in the mpc to pro tools without
sync??...if so, how can I do this??...

export/import them as wave files via the usb connection... or via cd, if you buy the cd-m25 expansion...
or, track them into wavelab, audiacity, soundforge,... etc, then ex/imp as wave to protools...
have fun syncing your tracks again in pt...

Sure...just arm Pro Tools for recording and then press play on the MPC. Pro Tools will record the audio.

Also note that there are plenty of people that don't use Pro tools in the world. Many use other workstations and have to import their audio into Pro Tools. Practically the same principle.

When you record your tracks, turn on the Click/Metronome for "Count in:" change it to "REC+PLAY." Then just line up the 1-bar of of clicks in your daw.

I don't even remember the last time I used MIDI sync with Vegas
and external music gear, I just record into it and that's that.

You know thats right. I've used all of the above at one point in time. I use sync it works for me.

I second bdrake. I have recorded directly through quarter inch's on my interface to my DAW (PT), but after frustrating pops I switched to using MIDI Sync and and looping my beats. Instead of taking an hour to do a seperation it takes roughly 5 minutes, I am MUCH happier this way. So I would recommend getting some midi cables and making it easier on yourself, but thats just my .02.

Exactly. Im always on the 1 and all my editing is done easily from that point. Way to simple and my workflow is great.
