Long pads

Hello again,

How do you guys take care of long pads or brasses etc. I assign a pad sample of say 16 bars to a pad within a programm and make this a one shot -one. Then I record this sample on it's own track in order to be able to mute it within a seq.

The problem I have now is that even when muting the padtrack it does not get muted but continues to play. I did solve this by assigning a slider with level to it but do I have to conclude that a pad can't be muted within a seq. whenever I want?

That's why you use note on.

You can assign your sample and a second pad (MPC pad ) to one Mute Group. You'd have to assign a short piece of silence to the second pad, which you can easily sample, then you can mute your first long pad by pressing the silent one.

Or you could just chop that sample up and play it through, then mute what you want.

Cool...I wasn't sure it would also work like that.
