Hi!! I got my 2500 a few days ago. It came with the optional Cd Drive. It suppose to come with one screw that you have to put on the back of the machine as soon as the cd drive is inside and you have the rest of the screws already in. Mine didnt come with this fucing screw. So I was wondering if someone can give me the datais of wich type of screw it is beacuse in the Cd drive manual says "dont put another kind of screw or it might broke"....
Any advice would be welcome
Cheers...

Help???

bare in mind that i have had my 2500 for about 4days but i have installed the cd drive aswell

mine is the same as yours (the dvd re-writer), what you do is unscrew 5 screws. 4 that hold the front pannel on and one that holds the metal shield thing that is blocking the gap where the drive goes. you then slot the drive in until it clicks in then screw the 4 screws for the pannel back in. you then use the screw that was holding the shield in and screw that in the hole further back to secure the cd drive in, to some up you dont need an extra screw and you havent been conned out of a spare for the cd drive. the drive should have come with instructions for how to fit.

i have no idea how to burn cds using the 2500 but there is so many helpful bonuses to having the drive even if you cant burn, you simple buy a sample cd from ebay ( e.g. fir £12ish i got 3cds with overe 20000 samples and it will last me my hole life) then load it up the same way you load from a flash card. SO EASY!!!

Thanks 4 the reply but that doesnt give me any solution because:

In the cd drive manual it says that there are 3 types of screws... that means that you can NOT use the screw you said (one of the 5 you have to put out at the beginning) to put it in the back. You have to put a smaller screw in the back which it suposse to come with the dc drive. I dont know if this is clear (sorry for the english, I´m spanish). My Cd drive is already installed, I only need taht foking screw to but it under the mpc... Shyt, this topic is getting on my nerves :)

Any help about which kind of screw is this (model or somthg like that) would be really appreciatted

Thanks again

Hi!

When u got your Mpc there should be 4 screws in the package where the manual was.....(these are for the hard disk)
The hard disk screws are exactly the same as the one for the Cd-Drive.
So take one of these or try to buy one....maybe at a computer store.

ROM means READ only memory.

DVD - you have it so why not try it, it costs you nothing to try it.

It may sound stupid, but i thought i lost my screw for the bottom of the cd-rom drive too. But it was taped to the side of the styrofoam that came in the box. Maybe you just missed it.
