WHERE CAN I GET THE ORIGINAL OS I THINK ITS 1.1 OR MATBE IT WAS 1.2 WHEN I GOT MINE BUT 1.22 HAS BEEN GIVING ME TOO MANY PROBLEMS

i used the link but i keep getting os file not found after installing the 1.21,i followed the update instructions from akai ,i dunno y it didnt work??

Try the JJ OS.. Watch out, it's like steroids for the mpc!

is the jj os good for the 2500? cuz i heard it wasn't ready yet.

What sort of problems?

my problem is that when i slave to protools too record my sequences the timing is off, so wen a track loops back it sounds off beat and my mtc doesnt work so i have too use midi clock ,akai said there working on fixing this problem so ive been forced to sequence in my triton

Have you tried using the MPC as a MASTER.

Also, have you tried using your Triton in the same way as the MPC to record into Pro Tools? What was the results?

I tested sync using both the Akai MPC 3000 and 2500. Recording using the MPC 3000, timing was up to .001 seconds off...using the MPC 2500, it was up tp .003 seconds off. Also, the buffer settings of your sound card/MIDI interface plays a significant role in the way these functions work. If you play with these settings, you will see different results with each setting. I reported by findings to Akai as well and they said they will forward it to their technical department.

To minimize issues...I use the MPC to completely compose a song. Then record into my DAW in one pass as audio. This produces the best results. If I want to record MIDI tracks from my MPC into my DAW, I save my MPC tracks as a MIDI file and then import the MIDI file into my DAW. This produces better results than trying to record MIDI data from the MPC directly into a DAW as MIDI data.

Also...if you are trying to use OS 1.1...there is no MTC at all.

Well....I don't know about steroids.....

Just looking through the list of new features...only the Real-time pitch shift using input thru is new (a demo was added a month or so ago). All the other features are already possible with older MPCs. So honestly..these features should have been in the OS from day one. My opinion is that there are many long time MPC 3000 and 2000XL users that are waiting for the newer MPCs to be fully compatible and have all the functions of the earlier models before they make the jump.


PS....Real-time pitch shift using input thru is hot. But it would be much better if this can be applied to samples already in memory using the Q-link sliders/knobs. That..and realtime timestretch. So..its getting close..but not ready to hand out cigars just yet....

basically i have a small problem but its just due too the timing when ever i dump say a drum track its not going too loop back on point , so when i zoomed in too look at the wave, seems to have a small piece of the wave from the begging at the very end !! im not that advanced yet so i like to keep it simple!
