bangin drums on the mpc2500

please what do you think about the comp and the reverb n mpc2500 are they enough to boost my kicks and snares ?i would try to have banging snares with a lot of release like in the imfamous lp from mobb deep, i want to have this style of snares for my tracks.i just want to know what do you think of this two effects .thanxxx

i really dont mess with thoose i do all my editing in pro tools with waves plugins...

ok but i dont want to feuck with computers so my question is to bangin up my snares with the mp only.i dont know if the effects of the 2500 can give this feel with good samples source of course i know is first how do you select your samples etc but i really ask myself about the internal comp and reverb because i cant try it before buy one..thanx

it will help for sure... but won't get you what you are hearing... you need to get an outboard compressor if you dont wanna fvck with computers.. try a dbx 160 to get in cheap or drop some cash on a sick DISTRESSOR that will def help ya...

If your drums are knockin' to begin with, you don't really need much else. Since you have the option of using a compressor in your 2500, just try it out. It seems like it works to me, and I don't use it. Your not going to hurt anything by trying.

Onboard fx in the 2500 are pretty good, but there is no substitute for hardware in my opinion.

Mess around with the comp until you have some nice settings. I think it adds a certain punch to the sound. Although I dont use it much any more as I have an outboard comp which all my equip runs thru.

The onboard effects are "OK" but like in the previous comment just make sure your sounds are good going in the machine first. there is only but so much processing that you can do in the machine. As time go on youll realize that you need more to get the overall sound you want on your projects then youll invest more but for now you can make bangin beats with what you have.

right now i dont have my mpc is why i ask about the effects before buying one..

I've loved the effects even in the XL. It does what it does. But then again, this is coming from a guy that LOVES the effects in the SP-303/404, and most people think them effects are wack. It's all in your creativity. If someone actually needs to physically see a button to be convinced that a machine can do what they need, they will never be satisfied. Your going to get a lot of opinions on the net.. most of them are costly!
