I got mpc2500 today, and I tried to install Kingston 128mb..
I bought that kingston ram from Ebay..
but it just says "MPC2500 128mb Installed" and doesnt go to any other screen...
my mpc's version was 1.22...

should I change it to v1.00 and install ram again?
or just refund it?

Get rid of that RAM and get the Akai RAM. If you spent $1600 plus on a drum machine..no use trying to save $50 buying unapproved RAM.

I think it should be kingston's 256 ram memory..

yeah, 256mb is what's needed for the mpc to be able to read 128mb.
that may sound strange to some newcomers, but read the following thread for all the info you'll need...
