some files play double or quadruple speed

i have some beats i sampled n put on my mpc but when i preview them they play way too fast. ive experienced this with sony acid before does anyone know why this happens?

i was thinking maybe something to do with data which isnt audio in the file, set loop points or something

that statement just seems completely backwards. you found some beats, sampled them and then put them on your mpc? i'm used to sampling with the mpc, making those samples into beats, and then sending them out of the mpc, but hey... that's just me.

maybe it's an unsupported file format? it's hard to say because i'm not entirely sure what you're trying to do.

its something like the bit rate or sample rate maybe.

with this, i believe you just get the "wrong file" error and won't even get to preview the sample.

sound thief - compare a duff sample with one that works.

open it in wavelab or whatever, and then check the properties of both. im sure you will see some differences.....

There's a "Tune" parameter for the sample that gets saved with the file, you see it when you open Window on the file name in Trim Mode. Not all programs recognize it, maybe that's the problem...

Yeah, it's happened to me a few times. A factory reset should fix the problem.

No...it's a matter of the sample, not the MPC at all. If it's really the problem, some other program must have written this parameter to the file, or the user himself on the MPC...

sorry i call a beat liek say, funky drummer is a beat.

i put them on my mpc afterwards coz i had already sampled the beats on my computer before i bought my mpc
