Bar-skip-problem

Hiho guys, I just started a track rebuilding on the mpc (my original I made on pc, but only need the mpc for live use)... so, I first made 20 bars... then updated to 40 bars, then 76... now updated to 100 bars, I can place everything in Grid Edit mode, but if I play the sequence (whether in main or grid edit mode), it only plays to bar 76 and starts at bar 1! 77-100 not played...

Can please someone help me?

Just a wild guess, but what does the "Seq. Free" field in Load screen say?

I don't know why it doesn't play on then. But I would suggest trying to learn split your songs up into several sequences... it's much more flexible and easier to edit as well probably.

Yes, I wanted to do that, but then I forgot it and thought to do it after I finished the track
But good idea, will try this now!

Do you have LOOP on set to 76 bars?

I always "transform" parts of a computer based song into
live-usable sequences into the MPC.
For example:
Intro-> Seq 1
Bridge-> Seq 2
Main parts -> several seqs.
I divide them into 8 Bar loops, so I can easily switch
and step and tweak in between all that parts of the song
-> works fine.

I read in an article that techno producers should be dealing in loops at lesat 64bars long.

So if you chop that up in to 8x8 bar loops everytime you want to hear all the SEQs together then you have to keep switching to SONG mode.

SO I think that you should be able to have as many bars as you like and AKAI should fix it... if it is a problem.
