I'm the new owner of a 2500 I just bought in mint condition at Guitar Center for $858 out the door! Man, I'm still on cloud nine! And to think I was about to cop this one cat's 2000xl with 8 outs for $800 a few weeks ago. Man, this thing is cherry mint with only a tiny scratch by the volume knob. Everything else though works and functions 100%. I wasn't even going to GC lookin for anything, just to bullsh*t around, and then I saw it in the corner underneath a new one for $899. The new one on top was on "sale" for $1999, lol.

Anyway, talked the salesguy as far down as I could, praying that the price wasn't some typo like they did to me at one GC 2 months ago, advertising a new blue 2000XL for $850 (what they're really worth), but instead said it was a misprint and that the price was $1399. Anyways, the rest is history. I got a 2K Classic, but was just trying to move up so I don't have to worry about zips or an expensive ass external MCD reader(thanks scsiforsamplers :? ) The funniest part was the salesman said it's been on display for 8 days now!. Wtf :!: Even if you don't need it you can quickly turn around and put it on craigslist and count your hundreds in profits a couple days from now.

I didn't come on here just to gloat though, there is one little problem I noticed with the unit I need help with. When I turn it on none of the factory sequences come up. While this might seem like a godsend to some of you guys, it irks me. Also the tempo is set to 78 and the bars are set to 8. When I go to subsequent sequences, the bars are zero, but the tempo is at it's normal 120. When I go to adjust the tempo it immediately jumps to 78. I tried a factory reset, but nothing happens. It's nothing major, I just adjust the BPM and bars to whatever I need and go about my business, but it's still a little strange nonetheless. Factory programs load up fine though. Anyways, I'll try to update the version tonight as it's still on 1.00 and see what's poppin, but does anybody have any clues?

I think that might've been the reason why the price is so low, you got a defected one. haha. jk... anyway, i don't see why a factory reset shouldn't solve the problem since no user changed preferences are changed when you do one. try the update, and tell us how it goes.

Updated the OS, but that wasn't the problem. The problem was some f*cktard saved a song with 8 bars at 78 bpm to autoload along with all of the programs. The bigger f*cktard is me for not realizing this at first. Problem solved. I guess I have to find the stock sequences somewhere if I need them(for god knows what). Allright, time to dig into the manual. No more dumb questions from me :o . Anybody wanna buy a 2k Classic  .

I still kind of feel like I'm dreamin. I keep checkin under the MPC imprint to make sure it says 2500 and not 1000. I've flipped alot of gear in the past and had quite a few bargains, but none to this effect! And at exactly the time I was lookin to trade up. Today was a good day :D .

Seriously though aything you buy @ Guitar Center though you can just talk them down. I bought my KRK RP8's there for $128.34 x 4=$513 out the door and I bought my Mbox2 there for $375 brand new. They are like putty in your hands!

Don't I know it. Despite it being advertised for only $899. I was still trying to walk out that b*tch paying $800 out the door. I never pay full retail there. Alot of times they actually tell me my offers will actually lose them money if they do it, and even tell me the salesman's profit when we do come to an agreement. Guitar Center is like the used car lot of music gear.

I copped my MPC 2500 about 2 weeks ago from a pawn shop. I had bought a Mpc 2000xl for $700 but it didnt work. I took it back and the manager really didnt know the difference from both of them so she told me to just give her an extra $100 for the 2500. It is in good condition and works perfect. I know they really didnt know what they had but i had to take advantage of that good offer!

MPC 2500 MINT $930.00 shipped on Ebay.
Sorry I couldn't help it :P
but in all honestty even if I had paid $1500.00 the machine along with the JJ OS updates are worth it.
