Using multiple midi outs

I'm quite curious about the mpc 2500, thinking of buying one but i have a few questions.

1. Can i send midi clock to any / all of the 4 midi outputs ?
2. Can i send MTC to any midi out i want ?

Example :
I'd like to have midi clock do to out A, B and C and MTC on output D. Is this possible ? Anything close to that ?

The manual pdf i have didn't seem too clear on this subject...

You can send midi clock OR MTC to the following ports:

A, B, C or D

or

A&B or D&C

or

all 4 ports.

You can also simultaneously send MMC to the same ports you selected above.

You can't currently use MTC and clock at the same time, which is annoying.

which wouldn't make sense to try to use two sync codes.You can only use one sync method at a time anyways.

I have more questions.

1. How would one slave a hard disk recorder to the mpc ? Using MMC ? Can you activate MMC independently of midi clock out ? Like having MMC on output A only ?

2. Another question i have is this: Let's say i have a mpc2500. I connect my midi controller keyboard to input A and my midi modules to out ABCD. Can i select which output will receive the midi data coming from input A ? Can it resend the data on more than one output ?

Yeah you can select what output your midi input goes to.. it automatically goes through to the midi channel on the current track selected.

I agree - it is really annoying that you cant send clock and timecode at the same time! I need this because i sent timecode to sync my DAW (doesnt accept clock) but then i need clock to send to a couple of old grooveboxes/ drummachines i got that dont accept timecode..

And before you say it, no i dont use DAW as master as my computer's timing is really, really bad..

On input you're correct, but on output it's quite feasable to want one piece of gear to sync to MTC on one port, whilst something else syncs to midi clock on another.

Only if you record it and copy it to different tracks.

I don't know. Most software sequencers can do it, and its a handy trick to have.

From what i could see, my Roland Fantom X can send midi clock, mmc and mtc all at once. But it only has one midi out and MTC supposedly eats up 5-10% of the whole midi bandwidth. If my Fantom had mutiple midi and more audio outs, i wouldn't be so tempted by an mpc...

Anyhow it seems the mpc comes very close to what i want.

I am amazed at the level of knowledge of people on this board. Thanks a lot for taking your own free time to answer my questions. The Akai mpc series seems to have a very strong community, which makes it look like an even better choice.
