It has finally happened arghhhh

So i switch on the MP to make some music, all good. Until, i record in some audio and go into the trim page... the q-link to adjust the end point of the sample is acting up, have to hold it slighty to the right for it to play ball.... then, i go to record my little creation into pro-tools usint the individual out puts and get this horrible nasty digital sound coming through, i un-plugged my midi cables (yeah i know it aint gonna be these) then proceced to identify the problem as outputs 1 & 2.....

It dosnt rain it pours.... i can see this puppy going back to the store... first problems ive had in just under 12months.

oh and to top it off the up button on the cursor section needs a very firm press to respond. WTF.... i have taken very good care of this machine and now this....

jesus christ, and i now realise that the drums i had programmed that were set to main out have some how bled onto a track i recorded into pro-tools using output 3, which i had soloed...

I know, this line becomes boring, but:

Did you update to the latest OS?

I have the latest OS and that digital sound happend to me. i just rebooted and it went away. it happend after i disconnected from a USB transfer.

i think im using os 2.1 or is it 1.21 i forget, its been on here for a while. the digital noise from the usb connection annoyed me, but i sussed that early on (months ago)

Ive been the pub and come back and it appears so far to be working fine, fingers crossed. the q-link seems to go sketchy when im using several midi channels at once. Bizarre..

Ive yet to start tracking again, but i will add to this if the digi noise reappears.

The USB thing. Could it be when you start recording in to the PC, the USB port on the PC freezes or gets some kinda feedback?

dont use the usb--first mistake--it is a 1.0 slot and sucks--use midi only and your problem will be gone---transfer rate on usb is slower than live recording

Yes, it's slow, and buggy, but to put it in the right frame:

USB1 "Low Speed": 0.188 MB/s
USB1 "Full Speed": 1.5 MB/s

(Don't know how much the MPC does, but must be somewhere in between)

44.1 kHz 16 Bit Stereo recording: 0.168 MB/s

Now if you decide to record in mono, it's only half of the data rate, while USB transfer speed remains constant.
