HOW CAN I GET THE CHOPS TO STEREO? NO MONO.

Hello, when Im chopshopping the slices and I convert the sliced samples, it will turn them to mono. Sounds like shit sometimes when some nice sounds are on other side or something and after the chop shopping they are GONE!?

Akai doesn't support stereo chop shopping. Try JJOS if you're looking for that feature.

Ok thanks, But the MONO doesnt bother me, its that if some sounds are in left and some in right, why they cant just get together? I hate when some sounds dissappear.

coz mono is essentially just the left channel. it's also mentioned in the manual in the chop shop section. the only thing that draws me away from the JJ OS is that there is no documentation. I just bought my MPC a couple days ago, so I just wanna get along with this thing basically, like loading samples, arranging stuff etc.

What I usually do (although I had discussions with people here already who claim you should NEVER EVER do this...) is to mix the signal down to mono before sampling in the MPC, that is combining both channels into one. That way you don't loose any sounds.

Well I dont quite get it why akai didnt put the Stereo feature into MPC, or EVEN COMBINING 2 CHANNELS TO ONE. Sometimes I fell like that the guys who made MPC, didnt want to finish it.

I think I´ll go with the JJ stuff.

you can chop. and then you extract each chop rather than converting them to a patched phrase or sliced samples. that preserves the stereo.

Akai is finishing the MPC, thus the reason why JJ is allowed to do what he is doing.
Originally when you talked to people at Akai they made it seem like they were in the process of stopping JJ, then it turned to a unimportant aspect.
Guess why?

why would they spend money or time to worry about an os its not like it makes them lose money they dont care and they no if u have a problem with ur mpc and its cus u put the jj os then u could e ****

It's just good business sense.
Both the 1k and 2500 were both rushed to market somewhat incomplete.
By outsourcing the 1k and 2500 to JJ you now have 1 person doing what 3 would be doing.
He is focused on the task since it's contractual.
Then you reduce the 3 programmers down to 2 or keep all 3 if neccessary and put them toward future products.
Remember Akai is no longer in control of their direction and when mergers of buy outs occur things are typically restructured from the $$$ point of view.
Look at how many cable companies and phone companies now outsource some of their work so that they can train the actual employees for more specialized work.
