The 2500, 1000, and the 500 all take the same type of ram.
If you'd like to know what to look for as far as saving money and buying third-party ram, check out this thread...

just got this about a week ago for my 2500 (Kingston ValueRAM 256MB 144-Pin SO-DIMM PC 133 Notebook Memory, Model#KVR133X64SC3/256 & HITACHI Travelstar 5K100 HTS541080G9AT00 (13G1584) 80GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache ATA-6 Notebook Hard Drive - OEM).....seems to work just fine......memory should work 4 1000....although some people will recomend not to go this route......so use your own judgement. Cost me $116.55 total (shipping cost included) at www.newegg.com seem to be the cheapest i found on that model hard drive & memory.

yeah. the same kingston ram you have for your 1000 should work for the 2500 as well as the 500. they all require the same specs.
