I just moved from a 2000xl to a 2500 and i've noticed that with the 2500 there is a delay (very small but nevertheless a delay) when playing notes with a midi keyboard. ie. if i hit a key on the keyoard, the resulting sound is not instant like on the xl. It's making it very hard to play in time.

I used the same setup with both machines, so i know it is the 2500 thats the problem.
If anything i was expecting the newer machine to have a quicker midi response.

Has anyone experienced/noticed this? Any ideas on how this can be fixed?

Wow, that sucks! Now you've got me thinking about not selling my 2000XL to finance a 2500.

Can anyone else confirm this?

cool. I guess i have to learn to cope with the delay, cos i love the 2500. Layout is better, screen is bigger + tilts more, and with the jj os u can use it as a fully fleged sampler like the 4k. ie play 1 sample over the whole keyboard. Stupid akai don't work with jj and advertize this feature, would sell alot more units.

No delay for me either. Are you playing from a sound module? Does it delay with a piano patch? I ask because if you're playing certain patches like strings, the characteristics of it tends to have a slight delay.

Haha , that reminds me of something stupid.
I went to a store and asked if i could take a piece of gear home with me to try it out before i buy it.
I came home and settled in the couch and connected it to my dvd-player for sound.
I started messing around and i was like dammn wtf , how can they sell this with that kind of delay on the midi.
Turns out that my dvd-player has a delay between incoming an outgoing sound
Dammn i felt like a dumbasshehe.
