midi in not working?

every since I had my mpc 2500 my midi in don't seem to be responding.......when I first had my mpc 2500, I still had my 1000, and I would connect my midi cables to the 1000 and everything would be perfect, but when I connect it to the 2500, the midi in don't seem to work.....the midi out works though.........is they something I need to be doing.....I have a 2500 and am tryin to hook it up to my newly bought eps 16 plus....please help.

have you tried using all of the mini inputs and seeing if they're all bad?

would I have to plug a midi cable from my eps out to the 2500 and another from the 2500 out to the eps in?.......I thought I just need one going from the eps out to the 2500 in

I tried using both midi in and their both not working?........wat can I do about this?

are you setting the proper midi settings on the main screen? there's more to it than just physically plugging in the cables.
