ok, so i got myself a 2500 the other day. Gonna be using it for live and studio work, and i was wondering, on the live side of things if anyone uses a midi contriller to control the internal mixer on the mpc?
The main reason im curious, is that when im in the studio, i have a 32 channel desk (yamaha MG32/14fx) to use, so i can run all the percussion sounds on their own channel, but live, im only using a 8 mono 4 stereo mixer (yamaha MG16/6fx), so i want to use a combination of the internal mixer in the mpc2500 and the yamaha. (i'm going to have all my programs doubled, one for studio, one for live so the assignments are already made for what im doing)
Mainly, sub mix the different parts on the box then use the yamaha as the main mix of the different parts, so like, kick out indiv out 1, snare out indiv out 2, cymbals out 3+4 stereo etc, and use a midi controller (BCF2000, eg) so i have individual pan and volume controls over the parts in the box, yet still main control over the mix on the yamaha.
Just trying to keep the physical channels used on the mixer to a minimum so i can plug my synths in.
