got the akai approved toshiba 40gb for $35 on ebay. works great and a lot faster than the cf cards.

i *****d up. i got the dw 224E not E-C. it dont work.
got idea why thou. its hard wired inside to act as master. and as the HD in the mpc is set to master then it dont work. anyone no how to change this internally (theres no jumpers) soldering maybe?

you have to push pin 47 back into housing so it disappears and then reconnect drive--its now a slave drive--it is the second to upper left pin--the last upper is 49--so you just go one over and that is 47

is pin 47 one over from the left? or 3 over? the first 2 pins are longer than the others correct? is it the second longer pin or the second smaller pin? pls excuse my ignorance but don't want to phoq up my drive. maybe i'm talking about the gold connector and not the pin. pin is silver or gold? thx
