data wheel..

hi there,

just bought the mpc 2500. I thought that the more you turn the wheel the more it increases the speed on its own. Hence this would be helpful in the trim mode to locate the good start and end points.
this was a feature in the 2000xl if i am not mistaken!
If anyone could guide me through that

It's different in the 2500. Instead of using the data wheel try using the q-link sliders to get the general area and then adjust the start and end points more precisely using the data wheel and shift < or > to increase the step size of the data wheel.

'cause a friend of mine told me it works so i was desperate to have a supposedly "problem" with mine...
so it is normal to increase only by one sample when turning only the data wheel ?

You can use shift > or < to increase the step size. Increasing the speed of the wheel wheel will not increase the speed of the cursorl. I really suggest giving the q-link sliders a try though. They make it pretty easy to get the sample you want.

Sample editing in the JJ OS works like that.

no it doesn't. the 2000xl did that, the JJ OS for the 2500 does not.
