OS proplems, GRRRRRR

I was in the middle of making a beat while in grid edit, i was copying and pasting a full 4 bars and it went over into the 5th. when i went to delete the unwanted notes the MPC crashes. Now when i rebooted it i got some "Demo" mode load up ?. Also when i tried to reload 1.22 onto the MPC it got to "Flash ROM Writing 98%" and stops ?. I reload the OS but still says demo and when i hit play it plays a static sound ?

The demo mode is standard factory kit that gets loaded from internal. You can stop this in the LOAD menu. Manual.

The loading of the OS hangin at 98% has been covered on these forums before. You could try a haardware reset of the MPC. Then try an older OS and then try the latest OS again.

Page 114 - Initialize to Factory Preset.

Turn it on while holding the erase key.
Release the erase key once you see the memory installed.

Cheers for that but im concerned about the funny static/sustained beep sound when it crashed and reset, is this normal ?. Also when scrolling through Pgm:'s i will come across ?Program01 ?.

If you dont have anything to contribute to the situation then please dont be a smart A$$. I have reformatted after a upgrade to the free JJ OS thne back do to 1.22, and seem to work fines again but i still get the ?program showing up when i scroll through Pgm: ?.

he told you how to re-init the system and that's what you needed to do.
Simple obvious stuff that's in the manual.

Every smart a** knows that's the way something looks when the 2500 can no longer find that file.
Does it with samples as well.
It's part of the curiculum they use to teach you to be a smart a**, I guess they don't teach you that in the dumb a** program.

And there is a search function which would have helped you and saved on valuable internet resources. Someone do me a favour.

You know that just mite be a vaild POINT IF I ACTUALLY did'nt use the search function, but by all mean please find me a search result that contains information on a strange sustained beep sound that plays when you hit play just after the OS crashes when you have been grit editing ?. Stick with the original OS...

Just then i was trasfering samples to the HD on the MPC 2500 and when i went to hit the drums(drums loaded) nothing ?, i had to reset the MPC to get the audio to work. Is this the OS or the unit(hardware) ?
