Help me out please!!

Im a noob on the mpc2500 but I I need some help from ya'll..

I want 2 record some drums.. How can I Overdub drums without erasing the underneath hihats.. When I do this with the demo drums I never have problems with it..But with my own drums it erases the underneath..

I want this:

hihat__hihat__hihat__hihat
kick ________ kicK______
______snare_______snare

But I get:

kick hihat snare hihat kick

Try this on your drumtracks:

Mode
pad 7 (program pad)
Params
make sure the "play" is set to poly

rec + start = starts recording from begining and will erase whatever else is on that track.

overdub + start = starts recording from begining and will overdub/add to that track.

record all your drums onto one track. after recording copy that drum track several times. edit out/delete different instruments in each track until you ONLY have ie, kick trk1, snr trk2, hihat trk3, etc...
