How can I get the samples not played on top of each other?

Hello, When I create a program of my own, how can I put so that the slices I use wont play on top of each other? Like if I press pad 3 right after pad 2 it disables whats playing in pad 2 got it? Just like making new program with equal slices?? Please help. Thanks.
