hard drives for mpc2500

i bought a seagate 60gig 5400 rpm drive, but it doesn't read in my 2500, are the hard drives that akai listed the only ones that work in the machine or are there others that do?.
just wondering as the shop i bought the drive from doesn't have the hitachi travelstar, and i'd prefer a 60 over a 40.
any help would be appreciated.
