hey ppl,

just got a MPC 2500. (running latest akai os)
I wanted to know if after u make a sequence you can assign tracks to b triggered by pads.
I've seen ppl do it with 2000xl, they hit the pads to cut in and out the different tracks.
I've tried to search but couldnt find what im looking for.
(apologies if i've missed an obvious post)

If i have failed to explain this properly this link shows an example of what i mean -

I just got mine a couple of weeks ago and am lovin it...

Looks to me like he's using track mutes with the pads...
Get a loop going say 4 bars and do something different on each track ( lots of tracks, you've got 64 hehehe...nah just do 16 to start) once you have loop with lots of tracks (even too much going on) then press TRACK MUTE BUTTON and you can mute and un-mute tracks using the pads...

Try this too....Put the 4 bar loop in song mode and break it out to repeat 10 times then convert and in that sequence thats now 40 bars long you can now record your track mutes..

Cool !!!!

there's a button on the machine that says "Track Mute" next to "16 Levels"......

press it!
