record synth in/out mpc

I am controlling a synth with the mpc 2500 sequencer with a midi cable coming out of the synth into the mpc and another midi cable coming out of the mpc into the synth .
question - how do i record the sounds into the mpc.

Midi only transmits data, not sound. You can sample your synth by plugging it into the audio input on the very left hand side of your mpc(if your looking from the back)

the mpc ,machine drum , and synth are all syncronised and the audio leads all go into 3 channels of a mackie 1202-vlz mixer then it all goes out to 1 channel of a dj mixer then out to the amplifier , what is the best way to record the synth into the mpc

i want to do this without removing cables all the time

I would just plug it straight into the mpc.

Hmmmmmm...are you saying you want the synth permanently connected to your mpc??

no i want it permanently connected to a mixer, i just had an idea , i,ll connect the synth to my dj mixer directly to another channel ,then i will connect the send cable to the record "in" on the mpc and when i want to sample i will just switch to send/return - how does that sound

you can use your aux send to mpc in to record anything that goes through your mixer... or the tape out, but its tricky to find the right cables. (rca to 6.3mm).

can i aux send 1 channel at a time with the mackie mixer ,as its just a new piece of equipment

i would try it now but its past my bedtime here in scotland ,things to do in the morning

just think of the aux sends as two more mono outputs of your mixer, normally they are used to send signals to effect devices and back through the aux returns. on any channel you can use the aux knobs to send the signal (pre eq) to the aux sends.
read the manual and tweakheadz.com, the answers are already written.
