Problem with mpc2500

i have a problem hopefully one of you guys can help me with... when i am in chop shop chopping a sample, and i choose to auto chop it and it loads then says "can't execute" what am i doing wrong? i have 128 memory. What could be the issue

try with a smaller sample perhaps? see if its memory issue?

i've gotten this message when my threshold and recovery time are set too high. try lowering those two values.

is the default too high?

they are all set on 50...

the default could be set too high if the amplitude/volume of the sample is too low. you could also try sampling at higher volume or normalizing the sample in edit mode before chopping.

so how would i go about fixing it? i'm new to all this so i really don't know how to change the velocity, and the sample..

jus go to trim mode (mode + pad 6 i think) then press edit and scroll to the right until you see normalise then press do it and your all set...

yup, this works. you could also concentrate on sampling at higher levels (without hitting the ceiling, of course). it's better to capture a clean signal to begin with. normalization adds digital quantization error as well as amplifying noise along with the material, but sometimes it's the only way.

i normalized it, and it still says can't execute...

is the mem in p[roperly? when you turn the MPC on does it say "128MB installed?"
