mpc wont allow ram expansion

hi, i posted somthing about this a while back and thought i had solved the problem by rebooting with new jj os,
unfortunately about 1 week later my mp froze, never to work again unless i took out the ram stick.
since then i have had a new ram stick sent to me which didnt work.
i then took my ram to the guy who sold me the mpc to see if it worked in his, which it did.
i know i have a faulty mpc, but, i have had it for 14 months which means no warranty.
i just want too no if anyone out there has heard of such a problem, and even better if anyone knows how to remedy the situation.
plz help, i feel like going back to the amiga 500

it sounds like you have damaged the set of pins which accept the RAM PCB. the only thing I would suggest is getting some of that compressed air and giving it a blast.

other than than take it your nearest repair center and ask for a temporary replacement while you get that one fixed. is that new zeland or netherlands?! i bet new zealand doesnt have many repair centers )

have u tried a factory reset?

yea, it is new zealand and yep not many service centres.
ive heard of mpc's been sent away for 10 months at a time with no temporary loan machine, so not to keen to have it sent away.
i havnt factory reset, is that holding erase?

k if this ever happens to anyone else, i have sent my machine to be looked at, its probably gone for months,.
so basically this is not an easy fix problem
