MPC 2500 filters

Hey all, I was just messing around with the filters on the 2500 on some of my drums. I am really pleased with the sound that I get out of it. I have always used Adobe Audition for EQ or any other type of effect on drums. Adobe has more features yeah, but the sound I'm getting on some of my drums cutting some of the high's and mids out on the MPC are really pleasant. Just thought I would share that.

glad you're not bashing the 2500 as it seems like a few people were (are).

yes filters are great. just bought an akai s6000=filter heaven!
have to say that i was amazed by the 2500s sound shaping capabilities.
there are less features compared to working with vsts but i can get better fitting sounds because its so hands on.

Oh yeah I love the hands on stuff. I'm in the same boat with you there, plus it makes you use your ears more, instead of eyes. I haven't touched on compression with the MPC yet but maybe I should. I am curious about the comparison between the compressor in the 2500, and Sonitus, the one I normally use that came with Sonar 6.

The filters are useful when you marry them to both the Q link and the lfos.
