Clear all memory (RAM) ... <clear all programs and samples>

I'm looking for the easy way to clear all the data loaded in the memory.. (I don't want to erase the disk or format) besides turning off my MPC and turning it back on how do I get a clean slate. so I can load all new sounds. I can't find Clear all memory. I know if I load a program it gives me that option. But what if I want to sample some drums. I'm not able to cause my memory is already full. Thanks.

I'm new to the MPC 2500... I used to have a MPC 4000. Sorry if this is a bonehead question?

i have my autoload folder set to a clean slate, so if i have stuff loaded and i want to a clean slate without turning it off then back on, i just load my autoload folder and when it prompts me "are you sure?" i hit clear

exactly how did you create an autoload folder and have it "empty." I'm still getting used to the 2500. but it's gotta be similar. seems like it's so hard for me to clear the sounds and everything. i think having the flash card with the "internal folder" throws me off.... what exactly do i need to do? thanks SO MUCH for your help.

alright, well first turn the autoload off from that "internal" folder, so that'll make sure those prog\samples don't load when you turn it on. I think you do it by going into "LOAD" mode, and hitting the "A.LOAD" button at the bottom. Then what you can do is make a program with no samples in it, name it "Clear" or something, and then save that program into a folder on your flash card\HD, whatever your using. Then, whenever you want to clear the memory, hit load on the folder you saved that program in, and when the window comes up, hit "Clear" instead of "Do It"

thanks again! one more question... is there a way to delete or erase the "internal sounds/programs that load up automtically" or are you stuck with them. is the only way to avoid them by turning off Autoload. it would be nice to create my own little "internal program/samples" and replace them with the mpc 2500 stock sounds.. i'm guessing autoload is the only way? ...hmm maybe i'm just not understanding the whole logic of this. it is a bit diffrent from the 4k.

well i like having my internal memory with the least amount of memory used as possible, so i cleared the internal stuff out of there...only way to do this is to save a sample to the internal memory, so i saved a small sized sample,

make sure none of the demo programs are being used and purge them

the same goes for if you don't want to turn your system on and off just purge

Once you have that autoload off, when you go to load a new pgm or file , instead of hitting "do it" mash "clear" it will clear all memory and load up the new file!
Learned that while sittin on the porcelin throne this am!
