Will the MPC load songs stored on itunes? Anyone tried this before? I am thinking of simply dragging and dropping from itunes into the mpc's HD. Will it work?

ok i tried this and the mpc does not read the mp4a files from itunes! is there an easy way around this instead of having to put the files on an audio cd or through audacity?

thanks but that was not really helpful. i have read my manual and do know that the mpc is not an ipod.
the way i got it working in the end was to import .mp4a files into logic and then to save the tracks as .wav files before pulling them into my mpc's hd.

page 118 of the manual states the data compatibility. it's also clearly shown on akaipro.com if you go to the mpc2500 product page.
but what amazes me is that people pay $2000 for a piece of hardware that has a sampler which gives them the ability to sample from virtually any audio source, yet rather than just sample, they assume that they can pull any type of audio file off of their computer and load it up in the mpc.
so like i said, it's not an ipod and so you shouldn't expect it to play mp4a files.

Listen friend, you are assuming that I just wanted to playback the file from itunes! That was an incorrect assumption. The reason I wanted to work out a process of importing my music from itunes into my mpc's hd was so that I could trim parts from any song that I already had on my itunes. A bit like what Propellerhead's Recyle would do.
Anyway, as I said in my post earlier I managed to work out a method of doing this and it works for me. I am sorry to get you frustrated.

actually, person who is not my friend, i didn't assume that you were just trying to play back the files in the mpc as if it were an ipod. THAT was an incorrect assumption on your part.
the reason i said the mpc is not an ipod is because ipods can play mp4a files while the mpc cannot. so i did answer your question in my first post, albeit in a facetious manner.
