Mac, USB, Memory Card Problem!

I'm running Mac OSX 10.4.10 and am having problems transferring data. Just recently, I loaded some drum sounds to the memory card and no sound came back. When I repeat the transferring/loading process, I either hear the sound VERY soft, not at all, VERY distorted (static/white noise) or even clearly (rarely). This is drving me wild! I am somehow however, able to transfer/load existing programs without any quality reduction. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated

You're keeping filenames short and files as 16bit wavs? Can't really help more than that is I've no problems with OSX/MPC/Mem card, tho I generally use the hard disk I put in mine.

Yeah man. Everything is 16 bit and file names are definitely short enough. I haven't made any changes to my methods. It just all of a sudden doesn't want to load my drum sounds....and ones I have BEEN using. I was excited to updgrade from the 2000, but I'm starting to think I should have gone with Logic!

I will check out MPC187. Thanks for the suggestions.
