MPC and MIDI (Protools)

Hi

I'm trying to sync midi with my protools

my alesis, yamaha keyboards are all set in to channel 1 and 3
and MPC on channel 2

But the problem is

1. is it normal I can't play note repeat if I turn off pad to internal sound?

and if I turn on the pad to internal sounds function, I hear the drum sound comes weird because it's playing the sounds at the same time. They get crushed

2. Is it normal that the computer gets the midi signal even there's no sounds assigned to pads?


all instruments are connected with midi in and outputs
motif: in 1 out 1, mpc in 2 out 2, alesis in3 out 3
