Question mark in programs

I saved a couple of programs on my internal memory. But when I turned the mpc off and back on again, everything loaded as usual but I also sort of lost everything. I did five sequences with five pgm's for each. But like I said, when I turned my mpc on I lost everything and theres a question mark in the pgm field and I cant get no sound out of them. Does anyone know how to properly save pgm's without this happening?

You have to save the programs with the sounds. Always make sure you save All Sequences & Songs along with the corresponding All Programs & Samples for your beat, or there might be something missing and it displays a question mark.

Remember that the internal flash memory only holds something like 5MB in total anyway. Maybe you saved entire memory and it was too much to fit into that?

only 5mb?? I have 128mb installed though..
but yeah, I'll look into it, maybe I wasn't saving properly. thx
btw, do you know how I could completly erase my internal memory, since the pgms are displaying question marks everytime I load up my mpc

Ok, to get this straight. The 128MB are the RAM memory of your machine. Everything in there is lost when you power down the machine, so you cannot save anything into that. The "internal memory" I referred to is a small (5MB) flash memory, initially used to hold some weak factory examples, but it can be overwritten.

You'll have to figure out where you are actually saving to. CF card? Hard drive? Those are the two possibilites for permanent storage.
