GLITCH-TASTIC NEW 2500!!!! THOUGHTS???

I'm DUMB heated right now..........

So I received my 'new' (ebay) 2500 in the mail today, after a good 2 years of enjoying my 1000.

I'll try and be brief: ahem, NO AUDIO PLAYBACK IN ANY MODE OTHER THAN TRIM!! I first noticed something was strange when I turned the machine on for the first time, it auto-loaded it's preset samples and sequences as it should for default. Except, when I pressed play, it wouldn't give me any playback on any of the sequences?? strange.. so I went into program, it showed all the samples and programs, but again wouldn't give any playback?? Then I ultimately went into trim (maybe my cables were jiggy or something?) and all the samples playback fine in trim??!! another strange thing is that the click plays fine in the main screen..just no samples. I tried loading up some of my samples from a CF card, still no dice (only audio in trim) Truss me, no mutes, sample levels, etc. are in effect here, everything should defenitely be money..

The ONLY thing I can think of is that it still has 16mb internal, but regardless, that just means it's slow and has shit for brains, it can still play factory presets right out the box, no problem. I plan on sending it back, but I had to ask what y'all though about this issue..

you sure that sobody didnt make any track mutes or whatever and then saved it as autoload ?

have you tried resetting the machine to it's factory default state?

I really DISSlike ebay myself, for the pure fact you cant test out shit before you buy it. then you gotta pay for shipping charges outta your own pocket if you decide to return it. **** ebay and unethical people!!


this is exactly why I stopped saving and started shopping at guitar center. or local trades on craigslist.

Does the sequence run at all when you press Play? Maybe the sounds are routed to the Indiv. Outs?

Turn off any Autoload, leave the CF card out when you power it up to make sure it loads nothing when it turns on. If that doesn't help, reinstall a recent OS. If it still **** up, send it back.

Definately factory reset it....

Just a thought...make sure full level is on....trim I dont think uses pad velocity sensing, all other modes do........

Actually, I was surprised to find that trim does use pad velocity on the 25 hundo..

I haven't tried factory reset yet, I'll def try that and see if there's magic. All the levels and everything are straight, and yes the sequences do run fine, just no audio..

so..I'll factory reset, if that doesn't work I'll download a recent OS, and if THAT doesn't work, I'ma have to find this dude and bust his knees..lol?

and yeah, I've had luck on ebay before, but overall, it's prolly not the way to go.. I'm a little hurting on $ right now, but really wanted a 2500, I got a great price, and maybe that's why.. and another shady, bad-business move with this deal: The pictures on the auction of the machine weren't stock akai photos, they were self-taken. The pics of the machine showed the CD tray open, although my machine has no drive installed?! yay!!
That was partly my fault for assuming it came with a cd drive, but just another reason why ebay can often leave you VEXED!!

Usually I don't buy when people don't show a self-taken pic but only a stock photo. Everybody should have at least a cheap digicam these days.

I would check before buying what the machine has and what not. But if he makes the impression it has a CD drive, and then sends you one without, then yea that's a definite reason to be pissed. You have a link to that auction still?

they WERE self-taken, that's why I was under the assumption that was the unit I'd be receiving, as I said I did neglect to ask tho, and it doesn't mention in the auction that it includes a CD drive...partly my mistake, but still bad-business on their part. Also..did not include original manuals, they were clearly xerox..... lame!!!!

I'd give them a hard time, especially if the outputs are really wrecked. You could even claim you did not get the described unit at all, due to the CD drive issue.
