Repair needed now my warranties ran out.. just my luck

Howz hings people? long time i know and yep it may well be my own fault for having it at the club, maybe ,or what i get for getting a macbook - but anyway it seems a fellow resident dj knocked my volume control lose from the board with his laptop ( my best guess anyway ) at first it was bleeding now i can just hear a whisper of it when its amplified to the max - im hoping just a little solder is needed but if i was to buy the rotary encoder myself how easy a job we talkin?
any1 had the same or similar problems?
just really not got the money to be charge stupid amounts for a few dollar encoder getting fitted..

I'M NOT TOTALLY SURE BUT I KNOW MY BUDDY HAD TO REPLACE ONE OF HIS KNOBS ON THE 2500 AND HE JUST ORDER THE KNOB AND IT WAS ACTUALLY VERY SIMPLE AND ONLY TOOK HIM A FEW MINUETS TO REPAIR. THE ONLY THING IS....I CAN'T REMEMBER IF IT WAS THE VOLUME KNOB OR NOT HOWEVER I DON'T EVEN THINK SOLDER WAS INVOLED IT JUST SIMPLY SNAPS INTO PLACE.

Yea, that's if you just want to replace the cap, but not the actual button underneath. Replacing a button or volume knob would require some soldering skills.

appreciated folks , and yeh as i thot - think ill just get the rotary encoder ordered and then try get a quote before giving it a go myself.

rotary encoder $7 far as i recall , i live in the Eburgh uk , bvuts its tiny so shipping shouldnt matter much.

Why not order it directly from VST or MPCStuff?

and anywhere here will add stupid costs to having to order the part themself-
so not even wantin 2 think about the labour costs they claim , bein unumployed now really isnt helping...

very true mate- i just recall the good old days when kats would be up for sending coloured pads etc aslong as you sorted them.
should maybe see about sorting myself financially first - get a credit card - then ordering and repairs aint so much or a burden
